All nations have a slightly different cost to build units and they have a different location. Therefore, the game play depends on the chosen nation. For example, England is very different to play from Austria. Current Nations in the game are: Austria, Brandenburg, Crimea khanate, Denmark, England, France, Mamelukes, Morocco, Naples, Netherlands, Ottoman empire, Papal states, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saxony, Spain, Sweden, Transylvania, and Tunis.
